Just remember one small detail about real cities; they all have functioning sanitation departments when and if they can afford to. Trenton Sanitation Department with all its flaws ranks as one of the most competent as they perform a thankless duty.

New Jersey is a state where many large and small municipalities are financially incapable of having a sanitation department. Instead these municipalities rely on minimal carting services of private companies. Residents of Trenton are clearly at an advantage for the sanitation services they receive.
Yet we still have in our midst those businesses and residents who are under the illusion that the City is responsible for maintaining every aspect of hygiene in their lives. To these "knuckle-heads" I say get a grip, City Sanitation is only responsible for maintenance to the curb of the streets.
Not your filthy rodent infested yards; the vacant lot next door in which garbage and packaging from the products you sell pile up or the sidewalks in front of your homes that you've never bothered to clean or beautify.
